Seafarers Development Programmer (SDP)
The PRE SEA TRAINING Course was introduced on request from the Shipping Industry, in order to ensure enhanced & multiple utility of ratings, on board vessels belonging to shipping companies, worldwide. Accordingly, the erstwhile Deck Rating and Engine Rating courses were adapted to the new guidelines and concept of “SDP” was introduced by the Directorate. This ensured higher employ-ability of the Indian seafarers in world market.

PST for SDP Course
6 Months Training (Online + Practical) + STCW 2010. CDC Documentation included.
On-Board Phase
18 Months as Trainee Ordinary Seaman on Board Ship.
Stipend: $250 - $500 USDAble Bodied Seaman (AB)
Certification and Sea Time as AB for 12-18 Months.
Salary: $500 - $800 USDOfficer Rank
Can raise up to Master Mariner / Chief Engineer.
Salary: $8500 - $12000 USDRequirements

Academic Qualification:
10th Standard from a recognized Board with Science, Mathematics. Minimum 40% aggregate and 40% in English.

Age Limit:
Between 17.5 to 25 years.

Medical Fitness:
Medically fit with 6/6 vision. Required to produce medical fitness certificate authorized by DGS.
